Inferno in Dragon Age: Inquisition is an Ability Tree of the Mage class.

Masters of this school of magic dominate the battlefield with unrelenting fire. Enemies who survive the initial blast are driven mad with terror or burn to death in unquenchable flames.


Mages trained in the arts of the Inferno call upon the powers of Fire and Heat to scorch their enemies with immense damage or burning explosions and raise walls and lay traps of fire to keep foes at bay.

Active Abilities



You ignite an enemy in searing pain and send them fleeing in panic.

  • Fire Damage: 300% Weapon Damage
  • Fear Duration: 8 Seconds
  • Cooldown: 20 Seconds
  • Cost: 65 Mana


Blistering Pain

Flashfire burns brighter and hotter, intensifying the panic the enemy suffers..

  • Fear Duration Bonus: 8 Seconds

Blazing Trails

Enemies panicked by Flashfire leave a trail of damaging flames behind them when they run.

  • Burning Duration Bonus: 8 Seconds
  • Duration: 5 seconds
  • Requires: Trespasser DLC



You unleash a massive explosion, leaving enemies in the area burning in agony.

  • Fire Damage: 300% Weapon Damage
  • Burning: 50% Weapon Damage per second
  • Burning Duration: 8 Seconds
  • Area of Effect: 3 Meters
  • Cooldown: 16 Seconds
  • Cost: 35 Mana
  • Eldritch Detonator Ability: Use on incapacitated foes for a combo.



Immolate burns hotter and has a shorter cooldown time, allowing you to rain fire upon your enemies more often.

  • Fire Damage Bonus: 50% Weapon Damage
  • Burning: 50% Weapon Damage per second
  • Cooldown Reduction: 4 Seconds

Consuming Fire

Immolate no longer has a cooldown, but casting it multiple times in succession costs additional mana.

  • Cost: 10 mana
  • Duration: 8 seconds
  • Requires: Trespasser DLC



Fire Mine

You mark the ground with a glyph that takes a short time to prime. Once it is ready, it will erupt into flame when a enemy crosses it, damaging and staggering the target.

  • Fire Damage: 1,600% Weapon Damage
  • Activation Delay: 3 Seconds
  • Cooldown: 24 Seconds
  • Cost: 35 Mana


Searing Glyph

Targets hit by the Fire Mine are launched into the air and set aflame, leaving them burning.

  • Burning: 200% Weapon Damage
  • Burning Duration : 8 Seconds

Flaming Array

You now create multiple mines directly in front of you.

  • Burning Duration : 8 Seconds
  • Requires: Trespasser DLC


Wall of Fire

You conjure a flaming barrier that burns and panics enemies that pass through it.

  • Size: 6 Meters
  • Duration: 20 Seconds
  • Burning: 200% Weapon Damage per second
  • Burning Duration: 8 Seconds
  • Fear Duration: 4 Seconds
  • Cooldown: 32 Seconds
  • Cost: 35 Mana


Lasting Flames

Walls of Fire creates a larger wall, and its flames burn longer on enemies who pass through it.

  • Size Bonus: 3 Meters
  • Damage Duration Bonus: 4 Seconds

Wave of Flame

Wall of Fire now begins at your location and moves away from you over the duration of the spell.

  • Distance: 15 meters
  • Requires: Trespasser DLC


Passive Abilities



After you land a critical hit, your next spell doesn't trigger a cooldown period.

  • Cooldown: 10 Seconds
  • Magic on Unlock: +3



You have mastered the summoning of fire, increasing your effectiveness when panicking or burning enemies.

  • Burning Duration Bonus: 25%
  • Fear Duration Bonus: 25%
  • Willpower on Unlock: +3


Clean Burn

Your spells burn away ambient magic that would otherwise slow down your casting. Every spell you cast shortens your active cooldown time.

  • Cooldown Reduction: 1 Second
  • Willpower on Unlock: +3


Chaotic Focus

When you cast a Fire spell, the spell consumes half of your barrier to empower it. The larger the barrier consumed, the greater the bonus to the spell's damage.

  • Barrier Bonus: 50%
  • Magic on Unlock: +3
