Knight Enchanter is a specialization of the Mage class in Dragon Age 3: Inquisition.
These rare mages received special dispensation from the Chantry to serve in battle. They summon blades from the Fade and are experts in protection and defense.
How to Become a Knight Enchanter
In order to receive this Specialization you must complete the quest Way of the Knight-Enchanter. It initiates by speaking with Commander Helaine in the Skyhold courtyard after completing the Specializations for the Inquisitor War Table Operation. You must collect 10 Lazurite and 3 Wisp Essences from the 3 locations listed below. They are NOT random drops, but instead drop from 3 specific enemies. Once you've collected the above materials you must craft the Spirit Blade Hilt at an "Inspect Requisitions" bench.
Craft a hilt to hold a spirit blade, study the methods required to wield the blade, and Commander Helaine will reveal the secrets of the Knight-Enchanter specialization. Take the essence from wisps at: 1 in Old Thoroughfare, 1 in The Weeping Spires, and 1 in Granite Point in The Fallow Mire. Readings can be found among the belongings of Vivienne or, if those are unavailable, among the wares of the book merchant in Val Royeaux.

Active Abilities
Spirit Blade
You create a blade of solid magic to make melee attacks against nearby enemies, bypassing their guard and barriers.

Upgrades
Defending Blade
You deflect incoming projectiles with Spirit Blade, sending a shockwave of energy back at the attacker.
Amplified Blade
Spirit Blade generates charge more quickly, but you expend all charge when striking an enemy.

Fade Cloak
You surround yourself with the magic of the Veil itself. You are briefly invulnerable and can pass through enemies unharmed.

- Cooldown: 12 Seconds
- Cost: 20 Mana
Upgrades
Decloaking Blast
If you rematerialize inside an enemy, the foe is blasted back with massive force.
- Spirit Damage: 1000% weapon damage
Enduring Cloak
The lower the charge on your Spirit Blade, the longer Fade Cloak lasts.

Disruption Field
You fill an area with magical energy that slows and weakens your enemies. Enemies larger than the field are immune.
- Speed Reduction: 50%
- Area of Effect: 3 meters
- Duration: 10 Seconds
- Cooldown: 20 Seconds
- Cost: 65 Mana
Upgrades
Stasis Lock
Enemies caught in Disruption Field are slowed to a stop over the course of several seconds. Striking them ends the effect.

Charged Disruption
When enemies take damage inside the field, Spirit Blade gains power.

Focus Ability
Resurgence
You call on benign spirits to restore you and your allies for continuing the fight. All party members are healed to full health, including those who have fallen unconscious, and a glyph around you provides ongoing healing to the party for the spell's duration. This ability consumes and is powered by focus.

- Tier 1: Glyph heals 2% per second
- Tier 2: Glyph heals 10% per second
- Tier 3: Glyph heals 25% per second
Passive Abilities
Combat Clarity
The chaos of combat frightens some, but for you, it's a comfortable rhythm. Your mana regenerates faster when you're near hostile enemies.

- Mana Regeneration Rate: 50%

Fade Shield
You draw back the energy released by your enemies in your attacks against them. Any successful attack strengthens your barrier. The more damage you do, the more powerful your barrier grows.

Veiled Riposte
Whenever you have a barrier active, enemies who attack you will take damage in return.

Knight-Protector
You're adept with defensive magic. Barriers you create take longer to naturally decay.
