Way of the Assassin is a Specialization quest of Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. It initiates by speaking with Heir in the Skyhold courtyard after completing the Specializations for the Inquisitor War Table Operation. You must collect 20 Deathroot and 3 Assassin Guild Leader Token from the 3 locations listed below. They are NOT random drops, but instead drop from 3 specific enemies. Once you've collected the above materials you must craft the Knife at an "Inspect Requisitions" bench.
Craft a proper knife, study the methods required to wield it, and Heir will reveal the secrets of the Assassin specialization. Guild Leader Tokens can ONLY be found on Assassin Guild Leaders at: 1 in East Side Hills, 1 in The Flats, 1 in Black Fens in Crestwood. Readings can be found among the belongings of Cole or, if those are unavailable, among the wares of the book merchant in Val Royeaux .
