Way of the Tempest is a Specialization quest of Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. It initiates by speaking with Kihm in the Skyhold courtyard after completing the Specializations for the Inquisitor War Table Operation. You must collect 1 Lightning Essence, 1 Frost Essence and 3 Essence Containment Apparatuses from the 3 locations listed below. They are NOT random drops, but instead drop from 3 specific enemies. Once you've collected the above materials you must craft the Bottle of Smoke at an "Inspect Requisitions" bench.
Fill a bottle of smoke, study the methods required to use it, and Kihm will reveal the secrets of the Tempest specialization. Essence Containment Apparatuses can ONLY be found on ?? at: 1 in Apostate's Landing, 1 in Long River and 1 in Storm's Solitude in The Storm Coast. Readings can be found among the belongings of Sera or, if those are unavailable, among the wares of the book merchant in Val Royeaux.
