Veilfire is a unique source of lighting only mages can activate, but anyone can carry. Explore to find ancient runes or devices that can only be used by Veilfire. Using any combaty ability will cause you to drop a carrier Veilfire torch. You can pick it up again once combat is finished. Below is a list of locations you will find Veilfire and what they are used for/uncover.
The Hinterlands

The Storm Coast
| Lyrium Falls |
Used to uncover the Lightning Rune (Schematic) in the middle of the cave. It's to your right as you are looking back towards the exit. Can be tricky to find. It's closer to the Veilfire than the exit. |
Forbidden Oasis

(Envers Mining Camp) Uncovers a note down the passage to the right about 30m. |
| Temple of Solasan |
Uncovers clues to the rooms ahead. Located directly across the room from the Veilfire. |
Crestwood

The Western Approach

Used to uncover Superb Frost Rune (Schematic). The Veilfire is in an alcove in the back and the Rune is to your left as you enter the cave leading to the astrarium. |

Used to uncover a glyph through a broken wall (needs Warrior). It is on the right about 30m past it. Part of the Scattered Glyphs quest. |
Lost Temple of Dirthamen
